Was it Vicki Corona who first coined the phrase: Life Is Not Measured By the Number of Breaths We Take, But By the Moments That Take Our Breath Away? I can’t remember where I first heard the quote, but the sentiment has inspired my life for decades. No one can escape the pressure, stress, and tragedy that darkens our doors from time to time. But dwelling in the shadows of what was, or might have been, drowns the soul in a dark ocean, swallows happiness, and squelches the passion that fuels the future. Yes, sometimes we need to buckle down, focus, and grieve, but live there briefly. Our life force is found in passion, not lurking in the dark corners of the mind. The key to happiness lies within all of us. Breathe in your passion, the oxygen that fills your tank with hope, faith, and love.
