So, you have to ask yourself, what is your pattern? Is it healthy? Will it really get you what and who you want in a relationship or in life? You may not know exactly what you want, but you surely know what you don’t want, and that’s enough to adjust your criteria and change your patterns. It’s simple, but it isn’t easy. We are all resistant to change. It’s much easier to maintain the status quo, continue to whine instead of wish. It takes courage to change, but taking the steps toward what you want will open up a whole new world for you. What you focus on is what you will attract so don’t focus on the negatives. Instead, concentrate on the qualities you want in a partner and direction you want in life.
Don’t know how to start? Here are some guidelines to help you change old patterns and turn your focus on new possibilities:
Identify your toxic patterns. Write them out so you can see them in black and white.
Resign yourself to letting go of old ideals and viewpoints and move forward to the future you desire.
Create a wish list of hopes and dreams — a must have and can’t tolerate list for relationships and a goal list for your life.
Start moving. The good things in life are out there, but they won’t fall in your lap so as Dr. Gary Wood said, “Don’t wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it!”
Surround yourself with positive people who will encourage your dreams and support you, and get rid of the negatives in your life.
Understand that change is inevitable, life is constant change, but you have the ability to direct your path.
Expect the best and you’ll be surprised at how often you get it. It may be three steps forward and one step back, but keep the motion going in the right direction . Never, never, never give up!
Have a wonderful weekend …
