Everyone has baggage. If they say they don’t, they are lying. Everyone carries the effects of the past with them in some capacity. Every choice and decision I make is derived from my frame of reference––what I grew up believing, but the key is to understand the dynamics of the past and learn from it so I can move forward instead of living there and repeating the same mistakes over and over. Holding on to a broken past kept me trapped in victim mode, resigned to be defeated by the obstacles that everyone faces at times. The fear of failure tied my hands and paralyzed my potential. The truth is, life is filled with unforeseen roadblocks, but the way to conquer them is to look at them as challenges and meet them head-on so they loose their ominous stature. I know first hand that it’s not easy to stay positive during the difficult times that life throws my way. Thats why I love quotes so much, and surrounding my self with positive people. Attitudes are contagious and I absorb what I live. If you’ve ever spent time around an “Eyore” personality, you know what I mean. When someone constantly plays the victim and spews excuses why they can’t … or dwells on how bad things are, I feel the urge gag first, and then run in the opposite direction. Negativity loves company and I won’t get sucked into that downward spiral ever again. Everyone has the ability to rise to the top, to succeed to the heights their intelligence and talent afford them. The difference between success and mediocrity is an allusion. Goals are within anyone’s grasp as long as they believe in themselves and reach for the stars. So here’s the thought for the day, chose to look at possibilities, not disabilities. Failure happens. It’s an essential step to success the vessel that sails to new ports on the horizon. Learn to expect and embrace setbacks as stepping stones to your dreams. There is a whole new world just waiting out there and every day everyone has a fresh chance to grab a hold and soar with eagles. I hope you enjoy this beautiful song by Mariah Cary and Whitney Houston and … Believe … Casi
