OMG! Casi McClean’s novel “Fatal Obsession” has more twists and turns than the roller coaster at Six Flagg’s! The suspense begins immediately when Deke, a promising football star is assaulted. Fiancé Elise suspects she’s being watched, her paranoia substantiated when her dog Jasper begins acting out of character.

When a woman is murdered in Elise’s complex, Elise is rattled to say the least, and arranges a romantic getaway with Deke to calm her nerves. This is where the author does a great job creating doubt and suspending the readers belief that all will end well.

Without divulging the plot, Elise is put in a position many females may relate to, and using her good senses, she manages to outwit her captor. I thought the author’s story-telling strategy was outstanding, with interesting characters, and fabulous settings. I look forward to reading more Casi McClean books, and highly recommend “Fatal Obsession.” ––Danna Dennis Wilberg
