It has been said, we have the exact life we want. At first glance, most of us would argue with that statement, but the truth is, it is amazingly accurate. I agree, most of us don’t have the life we desire, but we make our own choices and so we can’t argue that we are living the life we want. The decisions we make determine our path. If we truly want to change the course, we have to take the responsibility to adjust it. No one can magically make us happy. It is up to us to discern our direction and take the steps necessary to discover our own destiny. As long as we accept mediocrity, that was precisely what we will attain. Interestingly, the vast majority of people want to change their lives, but few ever do. We procrastinate with endless excuses. Where do we start … we don’t know enough … have enough money, time, energy or resources. We can always come up with valid reasons to stay in our comfort zone. Sometimes we even begin the process, but fizzle out after a meager attempt. Why is it so hard to accomplish our goals? FEAR. We never admit it, but fear is the primary reason most of us let go of our dreams. Fear is a formidable adversary with endless disguises and there is only one way to conquer the foe. Nike’s marketing was ingenious and they made millions with the simple three word slogan that says it all, JUST DO IT! When we stand at that crossroad in our lives we just have to take a leap of faith. Walk away from the path of least resistance. To walk the path less traveled may be foreign, or even daunting, but dreams can only unfold if we take the chance. If we wait until … we will never get there. Take a leap of faith and learn along the way. Henry Ford once said, “Obstacles are those frightening things that become visible when we take our eyes off our goals.” Concentrate on your goals! You can’t live your dreams focused on your fears. In the words of Les Brown, if you reach for the moon and miss, you are still among the stars! Listen to his video above and “Just Do It!” The time to start living your dreams is now. Casi
