A Native American Boy was talking with his Grandfather. “What do you think about the world situation?” he asked. The grandfather replied, I feel like wolves are fighting in my heart. One is full of anger and hatred; the other is full of love, forgiveness and peace.” “Which one will win?” asked the boy. The grandfather replied, “The one I feed!”

Everyone has excuses for why they don’t or can’t accomplish goals! What ever yours is, it doesn’t hold water! Feed your positive attitude and go after the life you want. Follow your dreams. I ran in my first 5K last year. I came in 7th among women in my age group, and yes, there were more than seven women entered, but the point wasn’t that I win or even place, it was that I ran. You can’t go anywhere in life if you don’t try. Take the chance. Run the race! What is the worst thing that could happen? Even if you come in dead last, you will have taken the first step and the sense of accomplishment will inspire you to move forward.

So often I have heard the words “I am too old to start over”. Do we grow tired and cynical with age or just loose sight of our passion? In the business world there are countless entrepreneurs who found success later in their lives. At 53, Ray Croc bought a single restaurant, McDonald’s, and turned it into a $500 million fortune. Col. Harlan Sanders built his fame and fortune with Kentucky Fried Chicken in his seventies. Harry Truman and Ronald Reagan entered politics in their fifties.

There are a myriad of success stories about people who embraced life and change later in life! No one knows how long they have in life, so its important to live each day to the fullest! If you are in your 20s, 30s or 40s you have youth, but the world is in the palm of your hands regardless of age! Realize your potential! You don’t have to set out to build a dynasty or become a president to discover your happiness. I am not an anomaly, but I am happier, feel better, look younger and have more energy, than I have since my 20s and I am following my childhood dream of writing. Believe this — It is never too late!  As long as you have breath in you body, you can change your life, so go for it!
