Never Give Up On Your Dreams
Albert Schweitzer once said, “In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.” His words inspire me daily and provided the core for ABA. Like whispers from past generations, those who have walked paths before us spark flames in their wake.
As we bare our souls, ABA becomes authors boosting authors, readers, fans and friends. We inspire, support, and spreadhope. So today I dedicate my ABA post to the wonderful authors who share their hearts and souls through the pages of this blog. “If you reach for the moon and miss you are still among the stars … And that’s what you all are, stars!
A few months ago Meryl Streep postedon Facebooka youthful picture of herself, riding onacommuter train or bus. Below the picture she added: (Picture with quote from Photo Getty and A Mighty Girl)
“This was me on my way home from an audition for King Kong where I was told I was too ugly for the part. This wasa pivotal moment for me. This one rogue opinioncould derailmy dreams of becoming an actress or force me to pull myself up by my bootstraps and believe inmyself. I took a deep breath and said, ‘I’m sorry you think I’m too ugly for your film, but you’re just one opinion in a sea of thousands and I am off to find a kinder tide.’ Today I have 18 Academy Awards.”Imagine if Meryl Streep believed what she was told and never pursued her career … Don’t ever give up on your dreams.
“The greatest thing about dreams is theydon’t expire. They canlay dormant foryears andwhen you pull them out anddustthem off, they shine like new.”

I saw an interview where Meryl said the same thing. Inspiring post, thanks for sharing Casi! Have a wonderful weekend.
Damn right, Casi!!!! Never – ever – EVAH give up on what you desire and dream about.
I was 54 y.o. when I decided to start writing and 56 when I had my first book published. I’d like to add. It’s never too late to start a new dream. Great post.
Great post, Casi! That’s why I tell aspiring authors never to quit with a rejection. I didn’t.
Hi Cassie, I get my weekly doses of inspiration from this blog. Molte grazie! 🙂
Very encouraging post Cassie!
Good luck and God’s blessings

Thank you, Pamela!
I have learned over the years and through receiving many, many rejection slips (enough to wallpaper the sometimes-lonely room where I used to sit and type my manuscripts) how you can recognize your dream as the RIGHT dream and worth continuing to pursue: IT WILL NOT DIE. Simply will not, even when others trample it beneath their feet, spit on it and drive a stake through its heart. That dream will get back up, dragging itself if it has to and groaning with pain, but it will march on. Thank you, Casi, for being an inspiration and giving us this platform on which to support each other!
Such a great comment, Laura. You exemplify my post! ✨
