Wow. December 8th? It’s almost Christmas—already? Where did the year go? How will I ever get everything done in time? When I scratch something off from the top of my list, several more appear at the bottom. But I don’t really mind the chaos. I love this time of year. The holidays bring out the best in people. Smiles from strangers, random acts of kindness, benevolence, faith, hope, and love, the spirit of Christmas like a whisper from God, warms our hearts.

Christmas magic swirls through the air with a palpable essence. Spinning our thoughts from normal routines of daily agenda to a kinder and gentler humanity, when tempers calm and aggression yields to generosity. The warmth of the human spirit radiates a glow throughout the world. Homeless are given shelter, the hungry are fed, tots get toys—but the loveless go unnoticed.

Their plight invisible, they slip through the cracks and fade into the crowds. For many, this season congers memories of a lifetime past or loved ones lost. Especially vulnerable, the elderly, homeless, destitute, or lost souls drifts through the holiday rush unnoticed. Someone’s parent, child, or forgotten friend might ache inside.

In the past I worked in soup kitchens during the holidays and gifted less fortunate families with my time and help to make their lives easier. The tasks proved very humbling. If I can put a smile on someone’s face, I’d spend the time or money to touch their heart. Would you? With our busy lives, sometimes it’s hard to keep in mind what’s truly important. Who we are inside, how we live, and what we teach our children make a difference.

During this season of love, when you reach out to friends and family, try to remember the lonely too. It’s a hard season to bear when a person sees love all around but feels empty inside. The loveless suffer in silence.

My greatest Christmas wish is we all look around us, find someone less fortunate and brighten their life. You won’t have to look far to find a lost soul. If you take a moment to touch someone’s life, you just might rekindle a spark in your own heart.

It’s almost Christmas. What do you plan to do over the holidays?

While you’re at it, be sure to check out my Christmas short story, The Gift.

THE GIFT––Savanna Bradford’s impulsive reaction to her boyfriend Ryan’s proposal spirals her into a rendezvous with fate and a mystical gift that could alter her future. Will the timeless struggle between dreams and passion bait her into repeating history, or will a simple gift from her bizarre encounter steer Savannah toward her true destiny before it’s too late?

★★★★★“I loved this story. It was short and sweet, and even made me tear up a little. But in a good way. I definately recommend it.”

★★★★★”I love it. What would you do if [you could see] destiny work in your life? Although these stories are short this author packs a wallop in these clean standalone reads which will warm your heart and make you ask the question, Is it real or is it destiny?”

I hope you all have a blessed holiday season. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPEY HOLIDAYS.
